The ThinkPad T16 Gen 2 laptop is made with a range of eco-friendly components, including recycled plastic for the speaker, battery, and AC adapter. The packaging is made from 90% recycled and/or sustainably sourced materials, and key parts are manufactured using low-temperature soldering. Available in Thunder Black or Storm Grey, the device features 90% recycled magnesium in the keyboard frame, while the Storm Grey version features certified recycled aluminum (50% in the top A cover, 55% in the bottom D cover).

We use the U.S. Department of Defenses MIL-STD 810H standards to strike the perfect balance between value and durability for our ThinkPad laptops. Devices are tested against 12 military standards and more than 200 quality control tests to ensure they perform in extreme conditions from the Arctic wilderness to desert sandstorms. These tests cover harsh environmental variables, including temperature, pressure, dust, humidity, and vibration.
